How to check your Canada application
Canadian immigration and temporary-residence applications; the correct account or tracker depends on the application type.
Step-by-step instructions
- Open IRCC’s status guide and select the type of application you submitted. Do not assume every visa uses the same tracker.
- Follow the sign-in or tracker instructions for that application. Use the account used to apply, or register for the specified tracker if IRCC directs you to do so.
- Review the application information and messages. Respond to document requests through the channel and deadline in the official request.
Choose the correct application type
Keep your application number and unique client identifier (UCI), if issued, available. If a representative applied for you, ask which account and application reference were used.
Information to keep ready
Keep your application acknowledgement, submission date, visa category and the name of the submitting office available. The official service determines which identifiers are required. Enter personal information only in that service; VisaWand does not need your passport number, login password or application reference.
If the record cannot be found
Compare the service and reference with your receipt and check the fields requested on the official screen. A technical error or missing result does not establish a decision. Follow the handling office’s help instructions if the record still cannot be retrieved.
After an update or decision
Read the actual notice and any document request, collection instruction or deadline. Passport movement, the validity of an issued permission and progress of a pending application are separate checks. Use the decision notice to confirm the outcome and next action.

Travel-advice references provide entry and consular context. They do not supply a private application result, and nationality-specific entry advice must not be applied to every passport.
