Check the service before travelling to headquarters

Argentina’s National Directorate of Migration, DNM, has temporarily moved specified face-to-face services from Sector M of Building 6 at its central headquarters to Hipólito Yrigoyen 952 in Buenos Aires. The change began on Monday 26 October 2026 during modernisation works. Applicants attending this week should check the transaction on their appointment rather than assume every headquarters service remains at its usual counter.

The 23 October notice covers child departure authorisations, information about migration control, last-movement certificates, corrections or disputes concerning migration movements, restrictions recorded in the computer system, certain departure-clearance and debt payments, and enquiries about existing procedures. It describes continuity of those services at the annex, not a change to immigration eligibility or a nationwide closure. The announcement does not give a permanent return date.

Child travel permission requires a separate document check

DNM’s child-travel authorisation service explains the documents for Argentine minors and resident minors in the situations it covers. Where a child travels with both parents, the required evidence establishes identity and the relationship. Where a child travels alone, with one parent or with another adult, the appropriate consent or legal authority must be established.

Use the detailed authorisation service page to identify the applicable family situation, including guardianship or other legal circumstances. It calls for valid travel documents, relationship evidence such as the original birth certificate or the specified equivalent, and a destination visa where required. An appointment for consent does not replace the child’s passport, identity document or destination entry permission. Foreign children visiting temporarily should establish their own applicable requirements rather than assume every resident-child procedure applies automatically.

Choose timing according to the actual departure

DNM’s July 2026 reminder identifies three processing options for its authorisations: normal service taking ten working days, express service taking 48 hours and an immediate option of up to two hours. It lists the types of offices where those services are available and says an advance appointment is required. Confirm the chosen service at the relevant office, particularly where the headquarters counter has now moved.

The same reminder says an authorisation can cover a single trip, a defined period or the period until majority. A single-trip authorisation must be used within ninety days of issuance. It also stresses the latest issued DNI and the documents for the child and authorising adults. Where a parent is abroad, the relevant consular procedure may be necessary. Do not treat the immediate option as a substitute for missing consent or relationship evidence.

Book the correct appointment and check the service fee

The migration-movements self-service page provides the official route to appointments for child travel permission and other movement-related transactions. The authorisation instructions require a separate appointment for each child. Use the service description and the current relocation notice together: the appointment identifies the transaction, while the notice identifies the temporary location for the affected headquarters work.

The current migration-fee table lists ordinary child departure authorisation at ten migration service units, express at twenty and immediate at thirty. It gives the current unit value as ARS 1,000. These correspond to ARS 10,000, ARS 20,000 and ARS 30,000 using the published table. Confirm the current payment instructions and any applicable exception before paying; these are DNM authorisation charges, not destination visa or transport charges.

Keep movement records and travel permission distinct

A last-movement certificate records an immigration movement; it does not itself authorise a future departure by a child or remove a restriction. Likewise, correcting a movement record and obtaining a departure clearance are different services even though the temporary relocation notice lists them together. Identify the exact issue before choosing an appointment or making a payment.

For an illustrative family preparing a November departure, the useful sequence is to check who is travelling, assemble relationship and identity evidence, select the appropriate authorisation timeframe, and confirm the affected Buenos Aires appointment location. For an adult seeking a record correction, use the migration-movements service route instead. The temporary address change neither extends an immigration deadline nor guarantees that an incomplete file can be completed on the day of travel.
