Indian passport applicants in the UAE should use the July 2026 fee schedule

The revised consular table differs from older examples still displayed online. Applicants should separate the government charge, optional services and the documents for their type of reissue.

Use the dated fee table rather than an older example

Indian citizens applying for passport services in the United Arab Emirates should use the fee revision effective from 1 July 2026. The Indian consulate in Dubai’s notification, dated 30 June, lists AED450 for an ordinary adult 36-page fresh passport or reissue and AED630 for a 60-page booklet. The corresponding Tatkaal totals are AED900 and AED1,080. This is a current-fee guide checked on 2 November, not a new November increase.

The distinction matters because older fee examples remain below the revised table and on the consulate’s general-information page. They should not be combined with the July rates to calculate a current payment. The notification says applicable outsourced-service charges and Indian Community Welfare Fund charges are additional. Applicants should request an itemised total for the actual category rather than assume the government fee is the entire counter payment.

Check whether the service and timing fit the application

The consulate’s general passport guidance says a holder can seek reissue when less than 12 months of validity remains, or earlier for reasons such as exhausted pages, changed particulars, loss or damage. It also says extra pages cannot be added to the existing booklet. A traveller running out of visa pages therefore needs to consider reissue, not an additional insert.

That guidance identifies Tatkaal exclusions, including lost or stolen passports, certain changes of particulars and passports damaged beyond recognition. The existence of a price in a fee table does not establish an individual’s eligibility for expedited handling. Applicants should resolve the service category before payment, particularly when the application changes a name, birth entry or other personal information. The general page also notes that the existing passport is retained during processing, a material consideration for anyone planning another journey while the new document is being prepared.

Prepare the evidence for adult changes of particulars

The adult reissue checklist distinguishes different kinds of name and address changes instead of treating every alteration alike. For example, it lists a marriage certificate or the specified joint declaration for changing from a maiden to a married surname. Other changes can require public documents showing the desired name and the prescribed publication or gazette evidence. Applicants should select the exact subsection rather than rely on a generic renewal list.

For an Indian address change, the checklist gives examples including Aadhaar, certain bills, a driving licence, an electoral card, a qualifying bank passbook or a rent agreement. It also identifies records for particular family situations. A proposed change of place or date of birth needs prior consular approval before submission under the stated instructions. These requirements can affect preparation time even where the passport itself is urgently needed. The adult checklist is the resource for checking that the requested new entry is supported by the correct evidence.

Use the child checklist for parental attendance and guardianship

The minor-renewal page says an ordinary child renewal requires the minor’s visa copy and both parents’ presence with their original passports. It then provides separate instructions where one parent is outside the UAE, where a local guardian applies while both parents are abroad, or where a legal guardian acts after the parents’ deaths. These situations should be identified before attending the submission centre.

Where parents appoint a local guardian, the page describes a joint sworn affidavit authenticated through the relevant mission or notarised in India, with further evidence according to the circumstances. A guardian’s relationship to the child does not by itself replace the required authority. Families should use the minor checklist to establish which consent and custody records apply, while confirming the current child fee from the July table.

Complete the online form before presenting the file

The consulate’s application-steps document directs applicants to register on the Global Passport Seva system, complete and submit the electronic form, print it and add the photograph. It also provides the official application-tracking route and distinguishes submission from later delivery or collection.

Before handing over the file, applicants should compare the printed form with the supporting records and the requested changes. A completed online form is a preparation step, not an issued travel document. No universal November filing deadline or guaranteed delivery date is established here; the practical timetable depends on existing passport validity, the intended travel and any verification required for the particular application.
