Palestinian passport applicants abroad need their own mission’s renewal checklist
This current-rule guide compares official Canadian, Swedish, Irish and Danish instructions so applicants can distinguish document categories, payments and photographs.

Select the mission and passport category before assembling documents
Palestinians renewing passports abroad should use the checklist of the mission responsible for their place of residence and establish whether the application concerns a passport with a Palestinian identity number or an external-use document. Official mission pages separate those categories and publish materially different photographs, attendance and payment instructions. This current-rule guide compares those differences; it does not announce a new overseas entitlement or a common worldwide fee.
Denmark's Palestinian mission passport page offers separate routes for identity-number holders applying through the embassy, renewal through a power of attorney and an external temporary passport. It also tells applicants to provide additional documents within one week of notification if requested. That is a mission instruction for responding to a request, not a universal passport-expiry deadline. Use the relevant route and appointment links before making plans that depend on receiving the document.
Canada’s checklist requires current professional or student evidence
The Palestinian General Delegation in Canada requires a typed form for identity-card holders, the Palestinian passport and identity card, Canadian status or identification, and four blue-background photographs measuring four by six centimetres. Its checklist also asks for certified evidence of occupation or school enrolment dated within one month of submission. A first application has a birth-certificate requirement. These details should be checked against the intended submission date rather than copied from an older family member's successful application.
The Canadian charge is CAD120 by money order payable to the Palestinian General Delegation. Applications may be made by appointment or by mail under the stated notarisation arrangements, with address evidence and a prepaid registered return envelope. The page says the old passport can be provided initially or later, but the new document will not be delivered before the old one is cancelled. That distinction matters if the applicant expects to keep travelling while the case is processed: establish the cancellation and collection sequence with the delegation first.
Sweden uses different attendance, photograph and payment instructions
The embassy in Sweden directs identity-number applicants to create an electronic account and arrange an appointment. Personal attendance is required except for children younger than sixteen. Its checklist identifies the original passport, Palestinian identity evidence and Swedish identification, with an LMA card requested where Swedish identification is unavailable. The passport charge is SEK800 through the published Swish route. Use the embassy's current payment instructions and retain the transaction evidence rather than applying Canada's money-order arrangements in Stockholm.
For identity-number applicants under sixteen, Sweden specifies a white-background photograph measuring seven by five centimetres. That differs from Canada's four-by-six blue-background instruction. The Swedish page separately gives blue-background photograph instructions for other passport categories, including external-use applications. This is a category and receiving-office distinction, not evidence that one colour rule has replaced every other rule worldwide. As an illustrative example, a family preparing renewals in Sweden should not order Canadian-specification photographs merely because the passports have the same nationality.
Ireland’s fee distinction shows why the renewal route matters
The Palestinian embassy in Ireland publishes separate passport-renewal charges: EUR20 through a power of attorney and EUR50 through the mission. Its passport fee table specifies cash payment. The same page gives general consular opening hours and advises booking an appointment before visiting. The two amounts describe different routes; the lower amount should not be presented as the full cost of every overseas renewal or as including all document preparation and delivery expenses.
Ireland's services resource also explains authentication sequences for documents issued in Ireland for use in Palestine and documents issued in Palestine for use in Ireland. Confirm which supporting records need that treatment for the selected passport procedure. None of the compared mission resources establishes a single guaranteed global delivery time. Denmark's broad travel-validity warning should also not be converted into a verified rule for every airline and destination. Check the actual journey separately. Before submitting, confirm the category, photograph, attendance requirement, fee payer, old-passport cancellation and return method with the receiving mission; unresolved differences should be put to that mission rather than resolved by choosing the least demanding checklist.
